Range Lamb &

Mutton

"We bring the pasture to you...A bit of pasture in every bite"

Sheep are natural low quality roughage processors . They are able to feed on plants that grow on land which is not suitable for producing plants for human consumption (wet or stony soils, brush, hills and mountains). It should be kept that way and not attempted to convert sheep to grain fed barn animals. The majority of our land base is in range land with naturally growing plants, as native grass and flower varieties, brush, tree saplings and mature local trees. These different plants guarantee a vast diversity in the feed of the foraging sheep & lambs and therefore improve quality and health value of the meat. Additionally sheep & lambs are moving a lot to get their fill, or they simply enjoy fooling around or taking extensive naps happily sheltered from the elements by trees. Furthermore this natural plant diversity creates an ecosystem in which other members of the native fauna can live in symbiosis with our farm animals.

It is our true belief that this simple, traditional way of farming is in most aspects preferable to an excessive creation of unnatural plant monocultures and hyper intensive production systems of modern agriculture.

Health benefits of our range lamb meat:

Lamb is often the most recommended meat for people with intolerance to meat.

Meat from range and pasture lambs is healthier and especially rich in Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA), Omega-3 acid, Vitamin A, B6, and D.
